Wayside is largely funded by everyday Australians who believe in our mission and donate funds to help us keep doing what we do.

60 Years, 60 Kilometres: A journey through the Red Centre

This August 2024, embark on a special journey with us as we mark 60 years of Wayside Chapel. Join Rev Jon Owen, CEO and Pastor, for a 60km trek along the iconic Larapinta Trail in the Northern Territory, symbolising each year of Wayside’s commitment to compassion and community.

By committing to this epic challenge, you’ll help provide holistic, culturally-safe care to engage our First Nations’ visitors and improve their wellbeing, addressing the challenges of addiction, homelessness, and the long-lasting effects of trauma and disconnection.

Wayside Chapel is committed to closing the gap with connection, compassion, and care, one person at a time. If you share this vision, come walk with us.

Support Wayside Chapel in the 2024 City2Surf

Run for love this City2Surf with Wayside Chapel!

Since 1964, Wayside has been providing unconditional love, care and support for people on and around the streets of Sydney.

This year, we invite you to join with Team Wayside as we mark 60 years of service to the Sydney community, thanks to supporters like you.

All funds raised will help show people living on our streets or in crisis, that they’re loved and not forgotten.

You’ll be helping provide basic necessities like hot meals, warm showers and clothing as we head into the colder months.

You’ll ensure people living on our streets or in crisis can access healthcare, housing, legal support and specialised services via our dedicated Women’s Program and Aboriginal Cultural Centre.

And perhaps most importantly, you’ll be choosing love over hate and helping to create community with no ‘us and them’.

After the race, you’re invited to join us at our Bondi Beach Community Centre to enjoy a sit, a stretch and a well-earned sausage sizzle.

I can’t wait to see you there,

Rev Jon Owen (CEO & Pastor) and the Wayside Chapel Team

Fundraising for Wayside

People like you are fundraising every day and helping us to open Wayside’s doors to the most vulnerable people in our community. You can ask your loved ones to donate instead of giving presents or flowers for events like a birthday, wedding or other special occasion. You can plan a sporty fundraiser like an ocean swim or marathon. Or in lieu of flowers, you can create a In Memoriam page so that your loved ones legacy can live on.

Find below some easy options for your fundraiser. If you would like something more bespoke, please get in touch at [email protected] or call (02) 9581 9101.

Once the page is set up, it is up to you – send an email to your friends, phone your family, tell your work colleagues. It’s an easy way to let everyone know about what we do here at Wayside and a way you can really make a difference.

Any issues, please email [email protected] or call (02) 9581 9101.
