Packed to the rafters with clothes, jewellery and kitsch delights, our Op Shops are a favourite of fashionistas looking for quirky one-offs and affordable designs. Dinnigan, Gucci and Ksubi – donated by some of Wayside’s very well dressed supporters – nestle amongst humble brand names, homewares and handmade items.
Shoppers have the added benefit of knowing that every dollar spent goes straight back into Wayside’s programs and services to help the more marginalised members of our community.

“I come here to admire the beautiful clothes, it’s like an art gallery. I’ve bought lots of clothes from here and I get some great advice about washing and sewing from the staff and volunteers. It’s such a pleasant place.”
Sue, Op Shop customer
Meet up, sit, eat, relax and enjoy beautiful fresh food and coffee served from the heart, in the heart of Bondi. Our food is fresh, wholesome and locally sourced with each dish reflecting the unique flavours, colours and lifestyle of Bondi. Our single estate, premium coffee is brought to you by local Eastern Suburbs coffee purveyors, Gypsy Espresso.
Heart Cafe is Bondi’s first social enterprise cafe, where diners can enjoy delicious, local dishes while helping to bridge the gap from unemployment to mainstream employment for some of Sydney’s most disadvantaged young people. Heart Cafe is a place for everyone.
Open daily, 7am – 4pm
In 2019, Wayside Chapel in partnership with UTS released the Managing Hybrid Releases Guidebook, using examing Heart Cafe as a social enterprise. You can download the guidebook here.
“Lovely coffee, friendly staff, delish food and a great social enterprise. What more could you ask for? It IS a cafe with heart. Thanks for the yummy breakfast – I’ll definitely be back to try some of the gorgeous sounding lunch menu.”
